he Excellence Scholarship for Pakistani Students

has been announced by the Swiss government in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission for the forthcoming academic year 2024–2025.

According to sources at the HEC local chapter, scholarships have been made available for one-year post-master’s research, three-year post-master’s, PhD, and one-year Post-Doctoral Programmes (PDP).

The deadline for applications to be submitted to the Swiss embassy is September 30.

The fundamental goal of the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships is to provide international researchers pursuing master’s or PhD degrees with educational opportunities.

The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students will oversee the selection of scholarship recipients.

In a separate announcement, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) described a scholarship program for Gilgit-Baltistan students to attend prestigious Pakistani colleges or institutions.

  • Outstanding Gilgit-Baltistan students who want to enroll in undergraduate programs (four- or five-year BS programs) at HEC-recognized public sector universities or degree-granting institutions (DAIs) are asked to submit applications, according to a HEC official.
  • Under the “Undergraduate Scholarship Program for the Students of Gilgit-Baltistan in Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions (Batch-III)” programme, scholarships are being made available for the academic year 2023–2024 in all fields of study or disciplines.

  • The applicant must be a resident of Gilgit-Baltistan or possess a local certificate from that province, and they must also have completed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent.
